My 6th DAnniversary and Crap No One Cares About.

I can't believe I've been on this site for six years.

I honestly can't even remember what it used to be like that long ago.

Only that my really crappy art used to get dozens of views within hours of submission, not because it was good, but because art wasn't being uploaded en-masse by thousands of people at once.

I remember I could submit something, go to the DA homepage, and see it right there under newest submissions. Bleh.


Anyway, I haven't submitted anything in ages. To be honest, I just don't have the motivation to post my artwork here anymore, and for several reasons.

The first being that I feel if I submit anything, there is a chance it could be traced, stolen, edited, recolored, and all of that other fun bullshit that DA has become so well known for.

The second being that I just no longer appreciate this site, a majority of the userbase, and the people who run it anymore. My respect was lost years ago, I just kept coming here for the people I did know weren't total morons.

The third reason being that I am no longer getting any helpful artistic advice and critique from being here. And the only way for me to get it is if I buy a subscription and have access to the critique feature, which is bull.

So I don't know anymore. I think I'm going to turn into a lurker. Maybe I already am.

So happy 6th DAnniversary to me.

Wow. Tottaly love your journal entry. Defantly true about absolutely everything on art theft. And when they say tracing is not stealing I looked it up to. one girl stole my art with no permission colored it and posted it on this website. But I didn't have i posted on dA. Some people are just so wrong!! And I really appertiate you pointing it out. ps. I dont have spell check

It's cool, thanks for agreeing. I've come back to DA temporarily, but I still refuse to buy any subscriptions until that rule is changed.
